Hi all,

Thanks for the interest in Young NTUC, YCiS, and YCiS Alumni Network.

What is Young NTUC?
Young NTUC was launched on 30th April 2005. Formerly known as the NTUC Youth Committee, Young NTUC is the official youth wing of the National Trades Union Congress. With 135,000 members below 35 years old, Young NTUC is the largest youth movement in Singapore. Working with the youth chapters of the 63 NTUC-affiliated unions, we aim to reach out to the young workforce in Singapore, representing them as a voice and thus helping to advance the cause of the labour movement.

What is YCiS?
YCiS is the short name for Young NTUC's signature forum series, Youths for a Competitive and Inclusive Singapore. It's about youths joining in the cause of a competitive and inclusive society. The programme consists of learning journeys, discussion and dialogues. This year, the whole programme spans 6 sessions over a period of 3 months. We had a dialogue with PM Lee at the closing session.

Why is YCiS important?
We believe that youths want to help shape the future of Singapore.

What does success in YCiS look like?
Youths appreciate the national issues and challenges faced by Singapore; and make an informed choice about what they want for Singapore.

What is the true essence of YCiS?
Being inclusive as well as competitive in order to grow as a nation.

What is YCiS Alumni Network about?
It was initiated by the 1st batch of YCiS participants. It's mission is to enagage youths in national issues, social causes and promote volunteerism. There will be a meeting in 3rd November to decide on its core work group and discuss about its work plan for 2008.

All are welcomed to participate in YNTUC activities like YCiS and its alumni, volunteerism, interest groups etc etc.

Will be happy to answer your queries.

:D
